It's 1979 and Erin King, a precocious and musically gifted 15-year-old struggles to find her own voice amidst the strict social order of the family's fundamentalist community. Depicts the dawn of conservatism in the U.S. through the lens of one young woman that doesn't fit in.

Daydream Believer introduces Rachel Wilkins' refreshingly honest, storytelling talent in her first screenplay. Drawn by the grim nature of her subject and irreverent ferocity of her writing, even unbelievers will be able to lose themselves in these dark, contradictory worlds of the conservative right.
